4 Backups
We want to emphasize the importance of having a working backup. Current industry pushes for 3-2-1 backup. A catchy phrase but at Ivcomputer, we have our own backup phrase called "4 Backups"
1 - Local backup - shadow copy and locally attached storage unit.
2 - LAN Backup - backup to non-attached storage on local network.
3 - Off site backup - third party or data backup on off site location.
4 - Production data synchronized to NAS unit. - providing same copy of your production data.
According to some articles, many as 40% of the businesses do not have any working backups. Running and checking backup is tedious and time consuming effort, but it is something that needs to be done on a regular basis.
